Charity Knitting Suggestions?
We have one suggestion of knitting caps for the NICU. I recently took care of a dialysis patient who had a dialysis line "cozy" (to keep the line from irritating his skin). Alot of knitters have been making Tit Bits during the month of October. There's also the Red Scarf Project, the Duulan project, Knit a River, etc. If anyone has any ideas, feel free to leave them here
BTW - I am always on the lookout for any charities supporting efforts to fight Lung Cancer, and I recently saw that String Yarns is selling Yarning to be Well kits, inspired by a customer who used knitting to help her get through chemotherapy for lung cancer. Proceeds go to Cancer Care.
Finally - welcome to Knitting Underway! 100 pairs of socks - you are amazing!!

Welcome to the new members!
Our numbers are increasing!
If anyone has blog/graphic design skills, please feel free to help make the site snazzy!
It would be nice if we could harness our powers for the forces of good - a charity knitting project might be something for the new year. Any ideas - just post, or leave a comment.

Webring is born!
So, after several weeks of intending to sit down and get the ring set up, I decided that tonight was the night. DH is out playing poker, so I could devote myself to setting up the ring, no matter how long it took me.
It took all of 5 minutes. The ring should be functional within the next day or so.
This link should get you to the page to apply for membership.

OK, this time I mean it...
Sigh - I swear by all that is holy, that I will get the ring set up within the next 2 weeks.
Sorry all.
Sorry all.

Ring coming soon!
Hello all:
I had hoped to get the Webring set up by the weekend, but I will be going to beautiful Nelson, BC this weekend, and won't have any web access. I will definitely get it set up by the end of July.
For simplicity, I think I will name it the Knitting Physicians Webring. Clever phrases like "Purlicillin" "Take 2 purls..." "Trust me, I'm a Knitting Doctor" Can be used for blog buttons or headers.
BTW - welcome to eyeknit!

By the way...
I'm always jealous of people who can knit at work. Sadly, I don't think it would go over well for me to be working on a sock while I'm taking a patient's history.
I wish I could knit while dictating - that would make it so much more tolerable (dictating, not knitting!!)
